Small Objects Exhibit
Aug 18, 2011
Six artists exhibit in Brisbane during Exhibition Week
The official opening of the Small Objects Exhibition was held on Sunday at 3.30pm, showcasing a collection of pieces developed by Outback artists Jane Colvin, Jill Dyer, Heather Hale, Dawn Head Rose, Alison Shaw and Margaret Stevenson. to a size limit of 15x15x15cm. Contemporary Artisans Collective artists Kathleen Hunt, Leanne Bond, Morgan Louise Anderson, Christopher Hardwick and Bruce Borey also exhibited.
The exhibition aimed to give regional artists the opportunity to exhibit in a metropolitan area to not only expose them to different markets but to also gain experience in meeting deadlines, working towards exhibiting final products and development of their profession.
A big thanks to the Contemporary Artisans Collective board and members, especially Sue Preston and Christopher Hardwick, for making this possible. Chris and Sue not only curated and manned the exhibit for us, but provided invaluable support and advice and without their assistance this would not have been possible.
The Exhibit is open until 20 August 2011 at the Contemporary Artisan Collective Gallery, 20 Lyons Terrace, Windsor, Brisbane. For further information please visit www.vastarts.net or www.contemporaryartisancollective.com.au. The Gallery can be contacted on 0402 051 511.
This project was made possible by a Regional Quick Response Grant—an Australian Government initiative through the Regional Arts Fund supporting the arts in regional and remote/isolated Australia.
